Stienburg Commits to St Andrew's
2017-05-07Congrats to Halifax Macs center, Matthew Stienburg who has committed to study and play hockey at St Andrew's College in Aurora Ontario for the fall of 2017
Saint Andrew's compete in the CISAA as well as a large independent school schedule against some of the best schools in North America like Shattuck St Marys and Northwood. They have had many of their players drafted to the OHL as well as commit to NCAA D1 schools.
Current Macs dman, Justin Barrons brother, Morgan is the outgoing captain of St Andrews.
After having his 15-16 season shortened to 16 games due to injury, Stienburg had a healthy 16-17 season where he didn't miss a beat posting 11 goals and 36 assists for 47 points in 36 games. A versitile player with a high hockey IQ and compete level, Matthew is just coming into his own as a hockey player and we look forward to watching his development in Ontario next season.
Good luck Stieny!
