Macs Announce Bantam Signings for their 2019-20 Season

2019-20 Macs Prospects

Fresh off their 2nd Telus Cup appearance in the last 5 years, the Halifax McDonalds are pleased to announce the following 2004 bantam player signings for the 2019-2020 season
 
Sebastian Lever - Goalie ACCEL Major Bantams: Seb had sparkling numbers this yr for the Atlantic Champion ACCEL bantams, posting a 2.21 GAA (3rd), .910 Save % (3rd) while going 11-6 in the regular season.   Seb was a member of the Hockey Nova Scotia U15 provincial team this past yr. 
 
Matheas Elles - Defenseman ACCEL Major Bantams: Matheas was co captain of the ACCEL bantams this yr and a key cog on the blue line for the Atlantic Champions.  Quickly developing into one of the top 2004 born defenseman in the province, Matheas will be an important piece on the Macs blue line this coming season.
 
Drew Maddigan - Defenseman Gulls Major Bantams:  Drew is a 6'1 defenseman who has put up impressive numbers this past season with the Gulls bantams who were Nova Scotia provincial champions scoring 9 goals and 20 assists in 33 regular season games, and following that up with 1 goal and 4 assists in 6 provincial tournament games and 6 assists in 4 games at the Atlantic Championships.  A strong puck mover with good vision, look for Drew to be a big contributor next season for the Macs.
 
Josh O'Connor - Defenseman ACCEL Major Bantams: Josh was co captain of the ACCEL major bantams along with fellow dman Elles.  Josh is a smooth skating defenceman with solid vision and hockey IQ.  Josh had a solid offensive season, putting up 6 goals and 21 assists in 33 regular season games.  Josh was also a member of the Hockey Nova Scotia U15 provincial team this past yr.
 
Brandon Abbass - Forward ACCEL Major Bantams: "Moose" as he is called by many is a relentless forechecker who uses his speed to his advantage.  Brandon finished the regular season with 17 goals and 22 assists in 33 regular season games and followed that up with 3 goals and 4 assists in 6 games during the provincial tournament.  Brandons work ethic will be infectious on the ice.  Brandon was also named top forward at the Atlantic Championships where he posted 6 goals and 1 assist in 4 games.  Brandon was also a member of the Hockey Nova Scotia U15 provincial team
 
Jacob Newcombe - Forward Gulls Major Bantams: Jacob had an exceptional year for the provincial champion Gulls, posting 25 goals and 16 assists in 33 games, good for 16th in league scoring.  He followed that up with a whopping 6 goals and 8 assists in the 6 games played at the provincial tournament.  Jacob is a highly intelligent offensive player with next level puck protection skills.  Jacob was also named Top Forward at the NS provincial tournament.
 
Jarrett Todd - Forward ACA Rangers: Jarrett is a tenacious player in all three zones.  Jarrett posted 11 goals and 21 assists in 32 games for the Rangers and followed that up with 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games at the provincial tournament.  Jarrett is a hard worker whose game is constantly improving.  Jarrett was also a member of the Hockey Nova Scotia U15 provincial team
 
Cael MacDonald - Forward Gulls Major Bantams:  The heady, right shot forward posted 12 goals and 31 assists in 33 regular season games, good enough for 12th in NSMBHL scoring.  During the provincial tournament Cael posted 5 goals and 6 assists in 6 games for the provincial champions, and 3 goals and 3 assists in 4 games during Atlantics.  Cael has good size already at 5'11 and is surely a player to watch next season.
 
Joey Henneberry - Forward ACCEL Major Bantams: Joey had a fantastic offensive season with the ACCEL club posting 22 goals and 31 assists in 32 NSMBHL regular season games, good enough for a tie for 5th in league scoring.  He followed that up with 4 goals and 5 assists in 6 provincial tournament games while also being named to the tournaments first all star team.  During Atlantics, Joey was the tournaments top scorer with 6 goals and 5 assists.  Joey was also a member of the Hockey Nova Scotia U15 provincial team
 
The current signings along with the returning core has the Macs set up for success for years to come as they prepare for the potential oppurtunity to host the 2021 Telus Cup which will be awarded this summer.  Welcome to the club gentleman!
