Former Halifax Major Midget players crack opening day rosters in MJAHL.

2009-09-15

Five players from the 2008-2009 Halifax Major Midget team have made the jump to the MJAHL for the 2009-2010 season.

The Taylar Made Security Titans are pleased to announce that five players from last years squad have been selected to the opening day roster of their respective team in the MJAHL.

Suiting up for the Nauss TIM-BR Mart Lumberjacks in Bridgewater this season are forwards Andrew Wigg and Mathew Doudelet. Wigg was a 2nd round selection by the Lumberjacks in the 2009 MJAHL entry draft. He scored 17 goals, to go along with 21 assists in 32 games last season with Halifax. Doudelet was a territorial pick by Bridgewater in 2008, and scored 29 points in 27 games last year for Halifax.

Moving across the hall in the Halifax Forum complex to suit up for the Halifax Lions this season, is defenseman Dylan King and forward Justin Belanger. King was selected in the 2nd round by the Lions in the 2008 draft. He scored 39 points in 35 games for Halifax Major Midgets last season, leading the league for defensemen in that category. Belanger, a territorial pick of the Lions in the 2009 draft, led Halifax in scoring last season, with 41 points in 35 games. Belanger is also coming off a strong training camp with the Halifax Mooseheads, where he was one of the last forwards released. He has been affiliated by the Mooseheads, and may see some major junior action this season.

Jake Bullen has made the Mirimichi Timberwolves roster this season after a solid performance in training camp. Bullen, a 5th round pick of the Bridgewater Lumberjacks in the 2009 draft, was acquired by Mirimichi in an off-season trade. Bullen scored 36 points in 35 games with Halifax last season, and also earned the league's Most Sportsmanlike award, accumulating only 10 penalty minutes.

The Taylar Made Security Titans would like to extend their congratulations to all of these players, and are extremely proud of their accomplishments. They would also like to thank them for their contributions to the Halifax Major Midget program, and wish them best of luck in all future endeavours, on and off the ice.
