Taylar Made Security Titans down Pictou County Weeks 5-2.

2009-09-20

A four goal first period led the Taylar Made Security Titans to a victory over the Pictou County Weeks at the Civic Arena on Sunday.

The Taylar Made Security Titans came flying out of the gates on Sunday, scoring 4 times in the first period, en route to a 5-2 win over the Pictou County Weeks.

Andrew Graham opened the scoring 49 seconds into the game, and just over a minute later, Justin Roode scored on a low point shot, putting the Titans up 2-0 early. The Titans maintained their attack, and Andrew Graham potted his second of the day at the 4:45 mark, an unassisted marker. Mark Falkenham cashed in on a scramble in the slot on the power play at the 12:57 mark, putting the Titans ahead 4-0 after the first period.

The Taylar Made Security Titans played a sloppy second period, getting away from their strong work ethic and battle level, and were out shot 11-8 in the frame. The team played a better third period, out shooting the Weeks 18-12. Zack Clarke iced the game with an empty net goal late in the period. In total, the Titans fired 37 shots at Jesse Cox and Jake MacPherson, who was pulled in the first period.

Jake Brennan was strong between the pipes for the Titans, stopping 35 shots in the win.

The Taylar Made Security Titans have a week of practicing ahead of them, before they take on the South Shore Canadian Tire Mustangs in a home-and-home series next weekend. Game time next Saturday is 7:30 at the Civic Arena.
