Titans bounce back with 6-0 win over Cape Breton West.

2010-01-19

Jake Brennan backstopped the Taylar Made Security Titans to a shutout victory in record-setting fashion.

Brennan, a 15-year old rookie goaltender from Bedford, etched his name in the record book on Tuesday night, becoming the first goalie in league history to notch 5 shutouts in one season.

The previous record of 4 shutouts, which was originally set in 1982 by Cape Breton's Philip David, was tied in 1992 by Dartmouth's Trent Cavicchi. 18 years later, Brennan stopped all 35 shots he faced to preserve the win, and become the new record holder.

Spencer Cameron had a goal and an assist for the Titans, while Kyle Campbell and Luke Short each chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Alex Zafiris and Adam Stevens were the other Titans to find the net, while defensemen Brody Power and Mitchell Henneberry contributed 2 assists each to the effort.

The game was held at the East Hants Sportsplex, and was played in front of a great crowd who cheered the Titans on. The team would like to thank all who came out and supported them as they head into the homestretch towards the post-season.

The Titans are back in action on Tuesday night, when the South Shore Canadian Tire Mustangs visit the Halifax Forum.

Puck drop is 5:30PM.
