Titans wrap up first place with win over Cape Breton West.

The Taylar Made Security Titans defeated the Cape Breton West Islanders 2-1 on Saturday night in Port Hood, clinching first place in the NSMMHL.

Kyle Campbell scored the winner early in the third period, and the Titans went on to play sound defensive hockey to preserve the win.

Brandon Boutilier scored in the second period for the Titans.

Goaltender Jake Brennan stood tall, stopping 25 of 26 shots for the Titans.

With the win, the Titans clinch their first regular season league title since 2003, and will hold home ice advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Titans take on the Islanders again today at 2PM in Port Hood.

TheĀ team hasĀ 2 games remaining in the regular season after today; a home game against the South Shore Canadian Tire Mustangs, date to be determined, and a home game against the Dartmouth Subways next Saturday night at the Civic Centre.
