Titans to clash with Weeks in semi-finals.
2010-02-17The Pictou County Weeks won their first-round playoff series against the Cape Breton Tradesmen, 3 games to 2, booking a date with the Taylar Made Security Titans in the NSMMHL semi-finals in the process.
The Weeks overcame a 3-goal deficit to force overtime in game 5 in New Glasgow on Tuesday, then potted the winner at 9:07 of the extra frame.
The Weeks will now travel to Halifax to take on the Titans in the second round this weekend. Game 1 goes Saturday night at the Halifax Forum. Puck drop is 8:00PM.
Game 2 goes Sunday at 12:30PM, also at the Halifax Forum.
The Weeks finished 4th place in regular season play, posting a very respectable 19-12-1-3 record. The Titans won the regular season series against the Weeks 4-1, but are preparing themselves for a hard-fought, tough and physical series with them.
In other semi-final action, the Cole Harbour Major Midgets are set to take on the Dartmouth Subways. That series also opens up on Saturday night, with Cole Harbour holding home-ice advantage.
