HALIFAX TITANS SET TO DEFEND THEIR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
2012-03-10The Halifax Taylar Made SecurityTitans will defend their 2011 NSMMHL Championship title against the Dartmouth Taylor Flooring Major Midgets in a best-of-seven series set to begin Saturday March 10 at the Halifax Civic arena at 6:30 PM.
The winner not only claims the 2012 league championship trophy, but also earns the right to represent Nova Scotia in the Midget Atlantics Championship against teams from PEI, NB, and the host Newfoundland.
The series is expected to be intense and features the two teams that finished in first and second place during the 35 game major midget season.
Each team lost only 3 games in regulation time during the season and had the lowest goals-against average in the league. Both teams feature excellent goaltending, strong defensive team play, and opportunistic scoring generated from intense fore-checking pressure.
In the league playoffs, the Halifax Titans have swept each of their two preliminary series against Cape Breton Tradesmen and Valley Wildcats, while Dartmouth has been pushed to elimination in each of their series against Cape Breton West Islanders and Pictou County Weeks.
We should see some excellent hockey in the upcoming days.
GO TITANS!!!!!
