Titans battle; lose in Semi's

Tough 2-1ot Loss to Valley

The Halifax Titans effort in the inaugural East Coast Ice Jam Tournament this past weekend ended in "overtime" on Sunday.

The Titans lost to the Valley Wildcats 2-1ot in the Semi-final of the Atlantic tournament at the BMO Center in Bedford NS.

Jordan Yochoff scored for the Titans and Jacob Dempsey kept up his solid play from the weekend with key saves.

The Titans arrived in the Semi-finals by finishing 1st in the round robin standings with wins over St. John's Privateers (3-1), Miramichi Rivermen (4-2) and Fredericton Canadiens (5-0), and then with a solid 4-0W over the Saint John NB Vitos in a quarterfinal game on Sat. night.

Scoring for the Titans against Saint John were Campbell Pickard, John MacDonald, Jordan Bezanson and Alex MacNeil. Jacob Dempsey earned the shut-out for his 2nd shut-out of the tournament.

Congratulations to two Titans; #8 Brett McNeil who was named the tournaments top Defenseman and 1st team All star, and Jacob Dempsey who was named tournament Top Goalie, and 1st team All star Goalie.

Congratulations to the players, and Congratulations to the Moncton Flyers, who were the eventual tournament champions.

The next action for the Titans is this Friday when the Titans travel to Berwick for some redemption against the Valley Wildcats @ 8pm.
