Titans grab early 2-0 lead in series

The Halifax Titans started the 2012-2013 playoffs this past weekend and got off to the start they were looking for.

On Saturday, the Titans got off to a quick start with 4 first period goals, but battled the rest of the way earning a 7-4 win in game 1.
Scoring was spread out for the Titans with Campbell Pickard, John MacDonald, Justin Doiron, Patrick Stewart, Ethan Marsh, Layton Parsons and Jordan Bezanson denting the twine. Jacob Dempsey made 25 saves for the win.

On Sunday, the Titans had to battle all game long for chances as the Pictou Weeks Midgets were more focused and ready to battle. The Titans opened the scoring but Pictou evened the score and the teams traded chances into the overtime period. Brett McNeil proved to be the hero in OT as the Titans took second game, 2-1 in OT. John MacDonald had the other goal and Nick Dawe made 23 saves for the win.

The next action for the Titans will be in New Glasgow for games 3 and 4, next Saturday (7:30pm) and Sunday (1pm).
