The Halifax McDonalds take to the ice this weekend in two contests which should prove to be tough tests.

Saturday they will travel to the Sportsplex to take on Newbridge Academy at 7:30pm.

Newbridge currently sit in 2nd place with a record of 3-1-0-1 and have been led offensively in the early going by the returning tandem of Jesse Hamer and Alex MacDonald.

The Gladiators have been very good defensively in the early going with the tandem of Aaron Mantle and Evan Fitzpatrick giving up a total of 9 goals in 5 starts which is tops in the league.

Brandon Worthen anchors the blueline after returning to the team from a successful camp with the Halifax Mooseheads.

The Valley Wildcats return to the Forum Sunday for a 12:30pm start where they will be looking to turn the tables on the Macs after a 3-2 set back last Wednesday at the Forum.

The Valley team has been led offensively by Brett Tidman and Michael Dill in the early going while 3rd year puck stoppers Michael Pettett and Roman Bengart have provided sound goaltending.  Late cut from Charlottetown Islanders in the QMJHL, Duncan McKie anchors a young blueline.

The Macs are off to a fast start this season at 6-0 and have been led by balanced scoring with 8 players registering atleast 4 points or more in the early going of the season.  Justin Ritcey and Reilly Pickard have been solid in goal posting 2.00 and 2.33 GAA respectively.
