Macs tie record, Improve to 11-0

The Halifax McDonald’s Major Midgets tied a recent team record with its 11th win this season over the weekend.
The Halifax McDonald’s Major Midgets tied a recent team record with its 11th win this season over the weekend.
The 2008-09 team started 11-0 when they were known as the Taylar Made Security Titans.
Saturday the day got off to a great start with a pre game pasta meal for players and parents. (Big thanks to the Bezansons for hosting).
Saturday night the Macs showed great team discipline and rode a hot powerplay to victory scoring 4 powerplay goals en route to a 4-1 win over the Pictou Weeks Major Midgets.
Jordan Yochoff led the attack with a goal and 2 assists. Ryan MacEachen, Patrick Stewart and Barrett Dachyshyn rounded out the scoring. Justin Ritcey made 28 saves in the win.
Sunday the Macs skated away with a hard fought win against a hard working Cape Breton West Islanders squad.
Luc Poirer led the attack with a goal and 2 assists in the 4-0 win. Jacob Hickey with a goal and an assist, Barrett Dachyshyn and Dillon Boucher rounded out the scoring. Patrick Stewart chipped in with 2 assists.
Reilly Pickard picked up his 1st NSEMMHL shut out with 21 saves in the victory.
The Macs next game is this Saturday on the road when they travel to Pictou. Game time is 7:30pm at the PCWC.
