Gladiators End Streak
On Sunday the Newbridge Academy Gladiators made their first visit of the season to Halifax in a classic "Halifax vs. Dartmouth" showdown.
The first person started slow as both teams seemed to be feeling out each other's lines. Dachyshyn scored his 6th of the season in the only goal of the period.
The 2nd saw the Macs fall into significant penalty trouble but escaped the period with a 3-1 lead after goals from Jones and Poirier. The Gladiators lone goal was scored by Barron.
The 3rd did not see any reduction in penalties except this time it was in favour of the Macs. However this did not prove to give the Macs any advantage as the Gladiators rallied for 4 goals in the first 10 minutes of the period.
Patrick Stewart answered back with 4:26 remaining but it was not enough as the Gladiators hung on for the 5-4 win; handing the Macs their first loss of the season.
Aaron Mantle made 43 saves in the Gladiators win and Justin Ritcey made 37 saves in his effort.
