Macs Heading to Midget AAA Reebok Challenge

2013-12-10

Midget AAA Reebok Challenge in Quebec City

The Halifax McDonalds are travelling to Quebec City to participate in Midget AAA Reebok Challenge which will run from December 11 to 15.  This year there are only two teams representing the NSEMMHL with the other being the Valley Wildcats.

The Reebok Challenge showcases the top elite teams from Eastern Canada and will certainly prove to be one of the toughest challenges for the team so far this season.  Head Coach Tim Boyce had the following to say when asked if the team was up to the challenge. “The team (Halifax) went 0-3 last year. We’re going there with the mindset of improving our game.  We want to do things at a quicker pace and I am sure the teams there will force us to do that.  Move the puck quicker, think the game quicker, break-out and transition quicker.  I think it’s going to be a valuable trip for our players to raise their intensity and mental focus even more, so we can come back to our league more prepared for the final NSEMMHL stretch.”

“We are not going up there with a mindset or goal that we want to win the tournament.  We are going up there with the mindset of improving our game and taking each game a shift at a time and see where that leaves us after each game.”
