2014 Chronicle Herald East Coast IceJam

2014-01-06

Ice Jam 2014

From January 8-12 the BMO Centre is going to explode with the top Atlantic Canadian Major Midget and Major Bantam teams for the 2014 Chronicle Herald East Coast IceJam.

This is the 2nd anniversary for the tournament and the Halifax franchise had tremendous success last year making it to the semi-finals.

Macs head coach Tim Boyce's expectations are simple "We are focusing on playing intense, physical hockey and fine tuning our systems for play-offs.  There will be lots of great competition at the tournament and we are looking forward to the challenges ahead.  We will take it one game at a time."

Normally this time of year teams would be on their way to Gatineau for their annual tournament but last year the NSEMMHL made the decision to form a tournament of their own to showcase our local talent.

"Its great that the league is stepping up to host its own tournament and promote Midget and Bantam hockey in Atlantic Canada as a whole. We don't need to travel great distances to find quality competition as we have it here in our own back yard" said Boyce.
