Mason McDonald at the 2014 CHL Prospects Game
The Halifax Major Midget Hockey Club has a long history of players who have gone on to experience success after their playing career with the club, Here's a little update on the success of some of our recent alumni.
Goalie Mason McDonald (2011/12) was brilliant in his one period of work in the CHL Home Hardware Top Prospects game, stopping all 14 shots he faced. McDonald is a highly touted goalie for this coming NHL Draft.
Forward Adam Stevens (2010/11) was recently dealt from the Acadie Bathurst Titan to the Gatineau Olympique in the QMJHL. Stevens is quietly posting a respectable season with 25pts in 38 games while being a reliable two way forward.
Forward Jeremy Butterworth (2010/11) was dealt from the Brooks Bandits to the Valley Wildcats in the MHL. Jeremy had 12 pts in 24 games with Brooks, last yrs RBC National Champions.
Forward Jake Bullen (2008/09) has put up 8pts thus far in his rookie season in the OUAA with the RMC Paladins
Forward Steve Dixon (2000/01) has put up 12pts in 33 games in Russias KHL with Khanty-Mansiysk Yugra.
Defenceman Mike Couch was recently traded from the Brampton Beast to the Arizona Sundogs in the semi pro CHL.
Forward Andrew Wigg (2008/09) is in his sophomore season with Plymouth State University (NCAA) where he has 9pts in 14 games.
Jake Brennan (2009/10) is currently backstopping the Bathurst Titan of the QMJHL with a record of 14-16-3 and a gaa of 3.23 and a save percentage of 0.903
Defencemane Nicholas Welsh (2012/13) is in his rookie season in the QMJHL where he has posted 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points in 39 games for the rebuilding Shawinigan Cataractes.
Forwards Campbell Pickard (2012/13) and Layton Parsons (2012/13) (Bridgewater MHL) both recently participated in the World Under 17 Championships in Cape Breton with Team Atlantic.
